Sri Lankan President end visit to Pakistan

A three-day visit to Pakistan by the Sri Lankan President, Chandrika Kumaratunga, ends today with both countries having signed agreements onscientific and cultural co-operation and the promotion of investment.

The BBC correspondent in Islamabad says both Pakistan and Sri Lanka regard the visit as a success.

During her visit President Kumaratunga said a wind of change was blowing across the sub-continent and that countries in the region had greeted renewed talks between India and Pakistan with relief and undisguised optimism.
