Israel, US, Turkey to hold joint naval exercises
The Israeli army says the first joint naval exercises between Israel, Turkey and the United States will go ahead next month. The operation, named Reliant Mermaid, will involve the three navies in search and rescue missions off the Israeli coast. The exercises were delayed twice this year because of criticism from Arab states about growing military cooperation between Turkey and Israel. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
