"Mysterious" disease in Kenya kills thirteen

Kenyan state radio has reported the death of 13 people in the last three days from what it described as a mysterious disease.

It said the disease has struck Wajir and Garissa districts in the north eastern province, leaving victims bleeding uncontrollably.

A health officer was quoted as saying that blood samples were being tested to determine the nature of the disease, but ruled out an outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus.
