World biggest lottery drawn

The world's biggest lottery prize -- Spain's El Gordo, or the Fat One -- has been won by a syndicate in the southern city of Granada, which shared out two-hundred and seventy million dollars.

The winners danced in the streets, despite near-torrential rain.

A record-breaking one-point seven billion dollars worth of tickets was sold for the Christmas draw, which accounted for the huge top prize.

The Spanish lottery draw, which started in 1818, is televised live and often brings the country to a virtual standstill.
