Armin Zoggeler, of Italy, has taken first place in the Luge World Cup race in Calgary, Canada.
Zoggeler finished with a combined two-run time of 1:31.120 and has won three out of four World Cup races this season.
Daehlie covered the distance in 1 hour, 19 minutes, 20.3 seconds to collect his fourth victory in six events and extend his lead at the top of the World Cup standings.
A five-time winner of the overall World Cup title, Vaelba put an end to a win-less streak dating back to last March, completing the 15km classical in 44:01.3.
Daehlie was followed by compatriot Thomas Alsgaard, second in 1:19:52.5. Erling Jevne was third in 1:20:16.2.
Vaelbe edged in front of her team-mate, Svetlana Nagejkina, by 2.2 seconds with Norway's Anita Moen-Guidon another 5.5 seconds back.
The results created no change in the top three in the men's standings, with Daehlie still on top with 492 points.
Alsgaard was second with 366 and Kazakstan's Vladimir Smirnov, remained third with 204.
Despite a ninth-place finish, Norway's Bente Martinsen conserved her spot atop the women's rankings with 315 points.
Russia's Larissa Lazutina was second with 273 followed by Moen-Guidon with 245.
Vaelbe's victory boosted her from seventh to fourth with 206.
