Cabinet reshuffle in Burma

The military government in Burma has announced a cabinet reshuffle following the dissolution of the former cabinet last month.

The Burmese television said eight ministers had been given new ministerial responsibilities in the newly-formed Peace and Development council and a new minister, Brigadier-General Lun Thi, had been appointed for the Ministry of energy.

Correspondents say this is the third major change in the Burmese cabinet in the past month.
