Bees hold up Brazil airport

Swarms of bees have held up the departure of two international flights from the airport in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.

Airport officials say firefighters had to be called in to make bees leave the nose of an American Airlines jet and then that of an Air France plane.

The officials say this is the first time that this has happened at the airport.

However, in May, the airport authorities say they had to use fireworks to make black vultures leave the runways.
