South Korean parliament discusses financial reform
The South Korean national assembly has begun a special week-long session which is intended to pass a series of financial reform bills. The government says the measures ,which include greater independence for the central bank and the creation of a single supervisory body covering banking, securities and insurance, are necessary to comply with the terms of the rescue package agreed with the International Monetary Fund.
