Bosnian authorities say 19 arrested in drive against "

terrorists" Authorities in the Bosnian Federation on Friday released details of actions against what they called terrorists operating in central Bosnia, saying 19 people had so far been arrested.

A statement by the Bosnian Federation public prosecutor said police had acted following "a series of grave criminal actions and acts of terrorism" in the area.

"The police found and seized a large quantity of arms ... and several forged documents belonging to various government and non-government humanitarian organizations, seals, travel documents, vehicle registration and driving licences, registration plates and even some diplomatic ones," the statement said, quoted by Bosnian TV broadcasting from Sarajevo .

"There were also manuals for training and for carrying out terrorist actions" .

Police had been able to shed light on the planting of explosives at a Catholic church in Travnik municipality, and charges had been brought against individuals suspected of planning to rob the guardian of a monastery.

Investigations were also under way into the killing of a US citizen in Tuzla in November and several people had been identified as possible perpetrators.

"The investigation so far has revealed that we are dealing with an organized and well-equipped terrorist group which is targeting the competent cantonal legislative bodies," the statement said.

The TV said the "feeling of success" created by the prosecutor's announcement had been marred by reports that an explosive device had been discovered in the Stup district of Sarajevo.

Croatia's HINA news agency said in an earlier report that two mines were found and defused on Friday at a Catholic church in the district.
