Islamic Women's Games end in Iran

Women athletes from twenty-four Islamic countries have ended a week-long sporting competition in Iran.

More than one-thousand athletes competed in twelve sports around the country; the Games were watched only by women spectators.

Iran took first place, winning most of the medals.

Kazakhstan was second followed by Indonesia.

Turkmenistan won the hardball title, Azerbaijan the volleyball and Kyrgyzstan the gymnastics.

Iran took titles in basketball, swimming and karate.
