Kazakh opposition leaders protest
The opposition in Kazakhstan have protested against the imprisonment of one of their leaders, Galym Abilsiitov, a co-chairman of the Azamat movement. He was sentenced on Thursday to fifteen days in prison after being found guilty of helping to organise an anti-government rally last month. The leaders of the Azamat movement, Murad Auezov and Pyotr Svoik, told a news conference that they would go on hunger strike until the court overturned the decision.
