A new party in Kazakhstan
A new political party is being set up in southern Kazakhstan. The party -- named Has-Sak True Guard -- is to be formed by a group of medical students and young medical teachers in the town of Chimkent. Reports say the party will campaign for better standards in higher education and to improve political awareness among the Kazakh people. Correspondents say that with teachers being one of the lowest paid groups in Kazakhstan, standards in higher education have been declining. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
