Colombian guerrilla leader captured
The Colombian authorities say they've captured one of the leaders of the country's second largest guerrilla group, the National Liberation Army or ELN. The police say the man, Jose Gregorio Orozco, is suspected of masterminding the assassination of the head of the secret police last year. They say the guerrilla, who was captured in southern Colombia, was in charge of the group's explosives procurement. The ELN regularly blows up oil pipelines causing frequent disruptions to the country's main export. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
