Britain is dominating the best actress category of the prestigious Golden Globes.
Helena Bonham Carter, Dame Judi Dench and Kate Winslet have all been nominated for the award.
Miss Bonham Carter has already won three trophies for her performance as Kate Croy in The Wings of the Dove while Dame Judi has been shortlisted for (Her Majesty) Mrs Brown in which she plays Queen Victoria.
A previous Oscar nominee for Sense and Sensibility, Miss Winslet has been shortlisted for Titanic, which has picked up eight nominations in all.
The three British actresses face Jodie Foster, for Contact, and Jessica Lange, for A Thousand Acres.
British names are also figuring in other sections with Daniel Day-Lewis up for best actor for his role as Danny Flynn in The Boxer, which is shortlisted for the best drama picture.
The surprise hit of the summer, The Full Monty, is nominated in the best musical or comedy category where it will challenge Men In Black and My Best Friend's Wedding.
The awards, regarded as the best Oscars barometer, will be presented on January 18.
