Yeltsin to stay in hospital after all
There have been conflicting statements from Moscow about when President Yeltsin will leave the sanatorium where he's been receiving treatment for a chest infection. Earlier today, Mr Yeltsin said he would resume work tomorrow . But a later report on the Interfax news agency quoted his spokesman as saying that the president would remain in the sanatorium. The spokesman said the ten to twelve days doctors recommended for his recovery had not yet passed. Mr Yeltsin was admitted to the sanatorium on December the tenth. He has dismissed repeated speculation that his stay is linked to his heart operation a year ago. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
