Colombian pipeline blown up
The Colombian national oil company says rebels have blown up a pipeline in an area with important oilfields, forcing the suspension of pumping operations. The company said it had lost around nine thousand barrels of oil. The same pipeline was blown up eight weeks ago. Correspondents say it is likely that the rebel group, the National Liberation Army, is behind the attack, as it operates in that part of the country. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
