British murder woman to stay in jail

A British woman convicted in one of the most notorious murder cases in Britain, has lost her public fight to be granted parole.

The High Court in London ruled that a life sentence given to the woman, Myra Hindley, should stand.

She and her her lover, Ian Brady, became known as The Moors Murderers after they were convicted in 1966 of the torture and murder of two children.

They buried the bodies in moorland in northern England.

During her campaign to be released, Hindley's case has repeatedly been reviewed by the British government, renewing public controversy over the case.
