New Czech PM takes time over new government

The new prime minister of the Czech Republic, Josef Tosovsky, has said that he will not name his government until after the new year.

Mr Tosovsky, the governor of the Czech central bank until his appointment to replace Vaclav Klaus as prime minister, said he wanted more young people in the government.

But correspondents say it is not clear who would be prepared to join what is likely to be a short-term administration before new elections.

The government of Mr Klaus collapsed after a political funding scandal.
