Should men and women be segregated in the armed forces?

Years after it allowed men and women to fight together, the Pentagon has admitted its policy could be damaging the US military.

A six-month inquiry - headed by a woman - found that mixed units were less effective in batle and called for segregation.

In Britain the former commander of forces in Bosnia Sir Michael Rose has said the army should be exempt from such political correctness.
