Gulf foreign ministers' meeting ends
Foreign Ministers from the Gulf Arab States, meeting in Kuwait, have agreed to step up economic and security cooperation. The meeting was called to prepare an agenda for the three-day annual summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, which starts in the Kuwaiti capital on Saturday. The Secretary-General of the GCC, Jamil al-Hujailan, said the foreign ministers have agreed on tariff classifications for one thousand commodities, in a move to promote free trade. The GCC groups Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
