Twenty killed in Rwanda rebels ambush

Reports from Rwanda say suspected Hutu rebels have ambushed a minibus, killing about 20 people.

Few details have emerged about the attack yesterday near Gitarama, in central Rwanda; one unconfirmed report said the passengers died after the armed attackers set fire to the vehicle while they were still inside. There's been no word from the authorities.

Correspondents say attacks by Hutu rebels have become bolder in recent months.

Last week they attacked a refugee camp in the north-west, killing an estimated three-hundred Tutsi refugees.
