Nepal-India treaty questioned
The Nepali foreign minister, Kamal Thapa, has said his country wants an immediate revision of its treaty of peace and friendship with India. He said Nepal was trying to renegotiate the treaty, but it was too early to reveal publicly what areas of the treaty Nepal wanted revising. Mr Thapa, in an interview with the BBC, said realities had changed considerably since the treaty was signed in 1950. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
