Alex Ferguson takes Manchester United go to Monaco on March 4

Manchester United are to meet Monaco in the quarter-finals of the European Champions' League away from home on March 4 and at Old Trafford on March 18.

In the Cup Winners' Cup, the only British team, Chelsea, play Spanish side Real Betis for a place in the semi-finals. Ruud Gullit's men are away on March 5 and at home on March 19.

Aston Villa, Britain's sole survivors in the UEFA Cup, are drawn against Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals. The two sides meet in Madrid's Estadio Vicente Calderon on March 3 with the return leg at Villa Park on March 17.

Monaco are seen as outsiders in the Champions' League but like Manchester United topped their qualifying group.

They knocked Newcastle United out of the UEFA Cup last season and include former Celtic midfielder, John Collins, in their ranks.

Brian Little's Villa have now been drawn away first in all four rounds of their UEFA Cup campaign.

Atletico, with Brazilian Juninho up-front following his summer transfer from Middlesbrough, put out Leicester City in the first round.

The Ajax stadium in the Netherlands will be the venue for the Champions' League final on May 20.

Finalists in the Cup Winners' Cup go to Stockholm a week earlier on May 13, while Parc de Prince in Paris hosts the UEFA Cup final on May 6.

The Super Cup, which matches the winners of the Champions' League and the Cup Winners' Cup, will be in Monaco's Stade Louis II on August 28.
