Taiwanese prosecutors arrest Hong Kong tycoon
Police in Taiwan have detained a leading figure in the Hong Kong media industry, Lim Por Yen, for questioning on bribery charges in connection with the sale of government land in Taipei. Mr Lim is the chairman of Hong Kong's Asia Television Limited, and has interests in the property market in Hong Kong and in Taiwan. Last month, the director of the Taipei County land administration office was arrested on charges of accepting bribes worth three-million dollars. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
