Experts called in over Japan tv drama

A Japanese television company has called in doctors, psychologists and animation experts to find out why several hundred children suffered convulsions and eye problems after watching a popular cartoon programme.

More than six-hundred children were taken to hospital across Japan, but doctors expect them to make a quick recovery.

The cartoon features animated characters based on a video game.

The children became ill after one of the characters flashed his eyes brightly.

Experts say the children may be suffering from photosensitive epilepsy, which can be caused by flashing lights.
