Clinton warns Iraq over weapons inspectors

In his news conference, President Clinton also repeated a warning that Iraq could face further punitive action if it continued to obstruct United Nations weapons inspectors.

Mr Clinton said other options would have to be considered if Iraq blocked access to the inspectors -- who are overseeing the dismantling of Baghdad's weapons of mass destruction.

Earlier, Baghdad said it would co-operate with the inspectors, but it called for respect for its sovereignty.

The UN is insisting that inspectors should have access to all sites, including presidential compounds.
