Albanian police say Gjirokaster blasts "terrorist acts"

Albanian police said on Tuesday that the three blasts that occured in the last 48 hours in the southern city of Gjirokaster, including the bombing of the house of the late Albanian dictator, Enver Hoxha, were the work of "terrorists" , the Albanian news agency ATA reported.

"The latest explosions in the Gjirokaster district are terrorist acts committed by certain segments which aim to disturb law and order in the city and create a psychosis of terror," a regional police spokesman said.

About 15 kg of TNT exploded, wrecking a kiosk and another explosion occurred at a health centre.

Police have been reinforced in the city, the agency said.
