Russia won't "keep harping on" about NATO expansion - Primakov

Russian Foreign Minister Yevgeniy Primakov on Tuesday reiterated his country's opposition to NATO expansion but said it would not "keep harping on" about it.

Speaking on arrival in Brussels, where Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic earlier signed protocols clearing the way for their admission to NATO, Primakov said, "We continue to take a negative view of the expansion of NATO and we do not want to see this.

At the same time, we are not going to keep harping on about these issues.

So we are going to have a serious discussion.

As for the interests of those countries which are joining NATO or are signing up, we'll just have to wait and see, as they say." His remarks were broadcast by Russian NTV television.
