The West Indies have defeated India to win a place in the Champions' Trophy final against England on Friday.
The Indians, who needed to beat the West Indian score of 229 in 45 overs, caved in for 188 after losing their last nine wickets for 62 runs.
England, who won all of their matches, and the West Indies, who took two out of three, will clash in the final, worth $40,000 to the winners.
India, who were jeered by some 15,000 supporters at the Sharjah cricket stadium after the defeat, go home losing all of their three matches.
Pakistan finished third with one win.
A strong start
The Indians appeared to have begun well when they restricted the West Indies to 229 for six after electing to field in a crunch encounter.
The Indian openers, Saurav Ganguly (70) and Navjot Sidhu (25) gave their team the perfect start, hammering 87 for the first wicket by the 20th over.
India were sailing comfortably at 126 for one when Ganguly's dismissal in the 29th over triggered a dramatic collapse as four wickets fell in the space of 14 runs.
Ganguly, under instructions to hit out, charged down to off-spinner Carl Hooper and was easily stumped by the wicket-keeper, David Williams.
One run later, the Indian skipper, Sachin Tendulkar, was run out by a superb throw from Raul Lewis on the square leg, who banged in the ball to Williams before the batsman could complete a second run.
