IMF praises Albania
A team from the International Monetary Fund has said it is impressed by the economic progress made by Albania since the crisis earlier this year. The IMF team said they were also happy with Albania's efforts to wind-up the fraudulent pyramid selling schemes that sparked the crisis, in which about two-thousand people died and many thousands were left destitute. The IMF team said the next priorities were banking and civil service reform, privatisation, and a functioning market for farm land. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
