More than 2,000 mourners at Jesuit priest's funeral in Nepal
More than than 2,000 people have attended a funeral mass in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu, for a Jesuit priest, Thomas Gafney. The American-born priest was stabbed to death at his house by unidentified killers on Sunday. He had been a teacher and social worker in Nepal for more than twenty years, caring for children and running drug rehabilitation centres. Christians constitute less than one per cent of the population of Nepal, the world's only Hindu kingdom. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
