Drunken Russian soldier shoots comrades

A drunken Russian soldier has opened fire on his comrades, killing at least three and wounding several others.

The incident occurred at a military base in the southern Russian republic of Dagestan.

Military officials say the soldier fired more than two-hundred rounds from a machine gun into tents where other servicemen were sleeping, before himself being shot in the stomach and captured.

It is the latest in a series of fatal shootings involving the Russian military.
