A man has been attacked with a hammer during a robbery in Staffordshire.
Police say the incident happened in the Bentilee area at around 0200 BST when the victim, 35, was approached by two men in Dividy Road.
One of them threatened the victim and demanded cash. When he refused, he was hit with the hammer and robbed.
The men made off in a white Vauxhall Astra which officers say was recently reported stolen. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg.
Attacks linked
The car was recovered in the Waverton Road area.
Police say they are linking the attack to another incident which took place moments later in the Ashbank area.
A man was approached by two men in a similar car, threatened and robbed of a mobile phone.
The first offender is described as white, aged 25, 5ft 8ins tall with olive skin and was wearing a dark jacket.
The second offender is described as aged 20, white, 5ft 8ins tall with shoulder length blonde hair.
Officers are urging any witnesses to contact CID in Hanley.
