Burglars steal whisky and vodka

Burglars have stolen a lorry filled with thousands of pounds worth of alcohol from a wine merchants.

The raiders struck at Ashcroft Wines in Northampton, early on Wednesday morning, forcing their way in through a metal panel.

They took several cases of alcohol and a loaded 12-tonne curtain-sided white lorry filled with top brands of vodka, whisky and bourbon.

An unsuccessful bid was made to steal another lorry kept on the premises.

Police are appealing for anyone offered cheap bottles or cases of alcohol to contact them.
