Donald Trump: more bounces than a rubber ball
|
Donald Trump is a millionaire who has mastered the art of the comeback.
Famed as much for his self-promotion as his negotiating skills, the bouffant-haired businessman has set his sights on the world of board games.
More than a decade after it first appeared, and hot on the heels of The Apprentice television series, Trump: The Game is once again in the shops.
Just in time for Christmas, "The Donald", as he prefers to be know, is giving players the chance to step into his shoes for less then $25 (£13.67).
Hard sell
Up to four people can take part; closing billion-dollar deals, buying glittering real estate and finishing off rivals with Mr Trump's "You're fired!" catchphrase.
According to reports, the first version of the game managed to win over a somewhat sceptical audience.
One reviewer at www.boardgamegeek.com calls it a "surprisingly fun game", while another at www.gamecabinet.com says there is no doubt that it is "an excellent little game".
The first version of the game had more of a Dynasty-feel about it

Even so, makers Hasbro have tweaked the product.
As well as simpler rules, the box has been revamped to feature a high-rise skyline and a stern-looking Mr Trump.
Despite the polishing of his board-game image, Mr Trump has had a mixed couple of years.
Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts has said it will seek protection from its creditors - called Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the US - so that it can restructure debts and get extra funding.
The much-needed injection of cash will mean that Mr Trump loses control of his flagship company.
Already he has had to get rid of the building that made him famous, Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York.
Recently, however, his popularity has been boosted by The Apprentice television series, which regularly attracted 20 million viewers and proved a ratings success.
As he says on the box, "The Donald" is back.
