A motorist from Surrey has died of multiple injuries following a head-on collision with another car.
The man was driving down Clay Lane in Jacob's Well, Guildford, in a Audi A3 which collided with a Mercedes at 1050 BST on Wednesday.
His passenger, along with two others who had been in the Mercedes, suffered serious injuries and were taken to the Royal Surrey Hospital for treatment.
Anyone who saw the accident is being asked to contact Surrey Police.
Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said crew at the scene had to use specialist cutting equipment to free one of the injured who was trapped in the wreckage.
