A 40-year-old woman who fell out of a car during a fun day at a Greater Manchester pub has died in hospital.
The accident happened when a number of people piled into a pink Volkswagen Passat, in the car park of the Royal Oak pub in Shaw at 1800 BST on Sunday.
Maria Greenough, of Hollins, died in the Royal Oldham Hospital on Wednesday and leaves a husband and three sons.
A man, 41, was questioned on suspicion of failing to stop and drink driving. He has been freed on police bail.
The open top car was taking members of a band from the pub to an entertainment stage when two women fell out.
'Devastating loss'
The other woman, a 31-year-old from Shaw, suffered cuts to her head and bruising.
Police say the driver left the scene and the car, which had part of its roof cut away, was left in the pub car park.
Mrs Greenough's husband John and sons Stuart, 21, Aaron, 17, and Jake, 10, said in a statement: "We are devastated by the loss of a beautiful wife and mother.
"She had just achieved her life-long ambition to have her own business, a sandwich shop in Shaw, and now her life has been taken away from her.
"We still cannot come to terms with what has happened and our lives have been changed forever."
