A motorist who died in a head-on collision after driving the wrong way down a motorway in Surrey has been named by police.
Martin Owens was killed when his Rover MG collided with a Honda Jazz on the northbound carriageway of the M23 between junctions 8 and 9 on 12 August.
The 42-year-old, who was from Edenbridge, Kent, died at the scene.
Shortly after the incident - in which two other people were seriously injured - Mr Owen's car exploded.
Serious injuries
The driver of the Honda - a 39-year-old woman from Chichester in West Sussex - is being treated for serious injuries at East Surrey Hospital.
Her passenger, a 39-year-old man from the Isle of Lewis in Scotland, also suffered serious injuries.
He was taken to East Surrey Hospital, where he is said to be in a stable condition.
Surrey Police said an investigation into the crash was being conducted and asked anyone with information to contact them.
