Mexican singer dies in crash
Singer Adan Sanchez has died in a car accident on Saturday in north west Mexico, police have reported.

A tire blew in the 19-year-old's Ford sedan and he lost control of the vehicle - two passengers were injured and taken to hospital. No other vehicles were involved.

Sanchez was the son of balladeer Marcelino "Chalino" Sanchez, the Mexican music legend who was abducted and found dead in 1992.

Adan Sanchez recorded nine albums of romantic ballads and tributes to his father and already had a big fan base in Mexico and the US.

US singer arrested on tour

US singer Howie Day has been arrested in Wisconsin and charged with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

The 23-year-old allegedly locked a woman in a bathroom on a tour bus after she refused his sexual advances and broke the mobile phone of another woman trying to call the police.

"That was probably wrong of me but I felt violated," Day, who was supporting Barenaked Ladies, told police about the phone.

He was released on bail on Thursday and will appear in court on 1 April.

Bond actor launches own website

James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has finally launched his own website after winning a battle to gain control of an internet site that used his name.

Brosnan was handed control of the website name after United Nations arbitrators ruled a cybersquatter was using the actor's fame to make money.

The website, www.piercebrosnan.com, now offers career and personal news and a monthly question and answer session.

The actor has said he does not know if he is to star in the next Bond film.

June release for Spider-Man film

Spider-Man 2 will swing into US cinemas on 30 June, Sony Studios have said.

It will be released two days earlier than planned to take advantage of the 4 July holiday weekend, one of US cinema's busiest times of the year.

The first Spider-Man film took more than $808m (£498m) globally and became the biggest US box office hit of 2002.

Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst reprise their lead roles for both the sequel and Spider-Man 3, which is due to be released on 4 May 2007.
