Leisure centre site is boarded up

The disused site of the Tropicana leisure centre in Weston-super-Mare is to be protected from vandals after a series of break-ins.

There have been a number of incidents of children breaking in during the summer holidays, but new boards are going up to keep them out.

The future of the former leisure centre has yet to be decided - but there are plans for a new pool and cinema.

North Somerset Council agreed to a development proposal in 2003.
