Safety measures are being considered for a multi-storey car park to stop skateboarders falling over the edge to their deaths.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council said it is discussing plans to spend £25,000 on safety improvements at Torrington car park in the town centre.

Health and safety experts advised the council to act after concluding there was a high risk of injury at the site.

One option is laying specialist strips of aggregate for better grip.

The strips would prevent skateboarders losing control and falling over the edge.

Skateboarding is banned in the car park but the signs have failed to keep skaters away.
