Nine people in Nottingham have been fined for not cleaning up their dog's mess and another four are facing prosecution for not paying fines.
The crackdown on dog fouling is part of Nottingham City Council's 100 Day Clean-Up Campaign.
There is a £50 fine for anyone caught allowing their dog to foul and not bothering to clear it up.
Sixty neighbourhood wardens have been given the task of handing out fines to thoughtless pet-owners.
The nine people fined were caught in the Wollaton Park, Bestwood and St Ann's areas.
Pupils in 50 schools across the city have already been taught about the dangers of dog mess especially the health risks it can cause to children and pregnant women.
