Decontamination units delivered
Two decontamination units for use after a possible terrorist attack are being delivered to Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade on Monday.

They feature walk-through showers and gas-proof suits, and can deal with up to 200 people an hour in the event of a chemical or biological incident.

One will be based at Hereford fire station and the other in Droitwich Spa.

They are among about 80 such devices being installed across the UK at a cost of about £50m.

The fire service said firefighters should be fully trained to use the new facilities within a month.

The units are about the size of an articulated lorry, but are mobile and could be sent at short notice to deal with any terrorist attack.

The Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade has been training with a temporary decontamination unit since the summer.
