What the Scottish papers say
The company which promotes Scotland around the world is under a death sentence after spending £6m of public money in creating and marketing its logo, says The Herald.

The Scotsman reports that one of Al-Qaida's top officials has ordered the killing of Muslim leaders if they co-operate with intelligence services and the police to thwart terrorist attacks.

The Press and Journal writes that the jailed mother of murdered toddler Danielle Reid is blocking efforts by relatives to have a headstone erected at her grave.

A terrified nurse told how she thought she was going to die when a convicted sex offender broke into a hospital and brutally attacked her, says The Courier.

The Daily Mail says Presiding Officer George Reid made a humble apology for the soaring costs and delays that plunged the Holyrood building into chaos.

And The Daily Record reports that a former lover of TV's Carol Smillie is waiting for a sex change.
