Vandals target abandoned vehicles
Abandoned vehicles in Guernsey have been branded an easy target for vandals by the police.

Officers have had to deal with a spate of burnt-out vehicles in car parks around the island recently.

Traffic Sergeant Martin Bougourd said people's laziness in the island was not helping the situation.

"People tend to dump the cars around the island, rather than make use of the refuse scheme, which is very frustrating for us," he said.

"When vehicles are abandoned they tend to become targets for vandals, who seem to think it is fun to set fire to them."
