The gang used bricks to smash their way to the money
Armed robbers smashed the glass front of a betting shop counter with bricks before running away with a large amount of cash, police have said.

The men burst into the Ladbrokes shop in Woodhouse Park, Wythenshawe, Manchester, at 1515 BST on Monday.

One of the men guarded the door as two others jumped over the counters and stole money from the drawers.

Police say no-one was injured, but the staff were left "extremely shaken" after the attack.

The men are all described as white and wearing dark clothing.

One of the offenders is believed to be about 20 years old and 6ft tall, with dark hair and dark brown eyes.

Det Const Adam Tippman, of Wythenshawe CID, said officers had managed to record the serial numbers of the stolen notes.

"We also have some extremely good images of the offenders taken from CCTV cameras in the shop itself," he said.

"I would appeal to anyone who recognises the offenders, or has any information about them... to contact CID."
