Man charged with killing daughter

Phyllis Porter was found dead at her home in 1996
A man has been charged with the murder of his 11-year-old daughter almost eight years ago.

Phyllis Porter's body was found by her mother Ann at her home in Kitt Green Road, Wigan, Greater Manchester, on 20 November 1996.

Geoffrey Porter, 43, was charged after police exhumed his daughter's body from St Lukes' Church, Orrell, Wigan, in April 2003.

He is due to appear at Bolton Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
