The vice-chancellor of the University of Derby has received a prestigious honour from Israeli students.
Professor Roger Waterhouse has been inscribed in the Golden Book of the Keren Kayemet after being nominated by Jewish students at the university.
The honour recognises the work he has done in helping Jewish students get into higher education.
The book is an historic record of people who make a special contribution to the Israeli nation.
It is rare for a person who is not Jewish to be featured in it.
The professor is retiring from the University of Derby in July after 14 years.
