Schools get internet warnings
Police officers are giving lessons at schools in Leicestershire to warn of the dangers of paedophiles on the web.

It is the first initiative of its kind in the county and is aimed at preventing children becoming the victim of internet crime.

Officers are going into two schools in North West Leicestershire this week and evening seminars are also being offered to parents.

Police say there are no specific problems but education is important.

Important message

Inspector Tony Marson believes it is important that the whole family understands the risks.

He said: "It is an important part of our work that we do have contact with the schools as part of our youth policy.

"It's a very important thing to get the message across and include the parents in that.

"I don't want to say we have a problem because we don't but it's one of those things you don't want to have a problem with."
