A 14-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an attack on his sister's boyfriend.
The teenager, who denies the charge and cannot be named for legal reasons, stabbed the 24-year-old man three times, Maidstone Crown Court heard.
The man suffered "potentially life threatening" injuries and had to undergo surgery, the court was told.
The boy, from Ramsgate, is alleged to have stabbed him on 3 March after a fight broke out. The trial continues.
After the incident, the boyfriend underwent extensive treatment for wounds to his stomach and bowel.
He told the court he was drunk on the day he was stabbed and did not remember returning to the maisonette or anything that occurred there.
